Ever wanted to spoil yourself with a vacation at a luxury resort but your budget never allowed you to actually do it? Me too – until I found this gem!
VIP treatment, a turquoise pool and incredible sunsets on a sandy beach with a spectacular mountain backdrop – Welcome to Tirana Dahab Resort!
Last week, this beautiful resort invited me to stay for a weekend and I couldn’t be more grateful.
Since I spend at least half of the year in Dahab and it’s one of my main bases, this was basically a vacation in my home town.
Because my Mom was visiting me from Germany during this time, she joined me and we couldn’t have had a better time!
Let me tell you how a typical day at Tirana Dahab Resort looks like and what you can expect:
The Arrival at Tirana Dahab Resort
You’re greeted with a fresh orange juice and your luggage will be brought to your room – no more carrying around heavy backpacks or suitcases for you, you’re a VIP now 🙂
A huge fruit basket is waiting in your room and the best shower I’ve ever had in Dahab! The beds are super comfy and the room is beautifully decorated – I will let the pictures speak for themselves:
So, you settled in – what do you do now?
Pretty much anything you could think of.
My suggestion: Head down to the private beach (the best beach in Dahab!) and take a sunbath first to soak in the view of the incredible Sinai mountain desert and get the vacay feeling going! Maybe sip on a Sakara (the local beer)?
The Food at Tirana Dahab Resort
Since I’m a foodie and love eating (a little too much!), one of my favorite things to do is roam the buffet.
The Tirana Dahab Resort offers three buffets a day, which is probably not a good thing for your beach body but your taste buds will be excited for sure.
Since being vegetarian or vegan is not a very common thing in Egypt, I was a little worried they wouldn’t have a lot of choices for people like me.
As always in life though, worrying is a waste of time and doesn’t help anyone – I had a wide variety of food to choose from!
Of course there’s also lots of different fish and meat, so nobody has to miss anything here.
Once you settled in and are ready for activities – this is where the tough part begins.
Why?
Because there’s sooo many things to choose from!
Scuba Diving at Tirana Dahab Resort
As a certified advanced scuba diver, I naturally headed over to the dive centre first and booked a dive for me and an Intro Dive for my Mom.
Dahab has some of the world’s best dive sites and the Red Sea will leave you in awe, you really shouldn’t miss the incredible underwater world here! The dive centre is run by Khaled, a well organized and funny guy who will get you sorted with whatever you need.
Whether you want to get your open water or just do a few fun dives, you’re in the right place. Experienced guides and high-quality equipment make sure your scuba diving adventure is completely safe.
My personal favorite dive sites in Dahab are The Caves, Canyon and Blue Hole.
Wakeboarding & Water Ski at Tirana Dahab Resort
Especially when you’re on vacation, you should try something you’ve never done before.
We chose to go wakeboarding with Franco, who is not only knowledgeable but also a super funny guy who will make sure you’re gonna have a great time, even if you suck at wakeboarding 😉
To my own surprise, I managed to stand up and ride the board for a while on my first try! I really enjoyed it even though I obviously crashed quite a few times.
Windsurfing & Kitesurfing at Tirana Dahab Resort
Those are the master disciplines of water sports and surely not to learn in an hour.
If the weather conditions are right (you obviously need to have some wind at least), Dahab is one of the best places to learn wind- or kitesurfing, the laguna is famous for this and full of surfers as soon as there’s wind.
Because I only had two days at the resort, I decided against taking a course, but I would definitely recommend to try their well-equipped surfing school if you have a couple days!
Other activities at Tirana Dahab Resort
Besides these main “big” activities, there’s plenty of other things to do at the resort.
You can e.g. play a round of volleyball with your friends or other guests or go for a horse ride around the laguna during sunset (you can even go swimming with the horses, how cool is that?).
Or you could hit the gym to burn off some of the excessive calories you’re taking in during all of those yummy buffets!
In the evenings, there’s always some kind of entertainment in the Sultan Bar like Karaoke e.g.
Since I went with my Mom and am not a big party person (anymore), we rather enjoyed a bottle of wine on the beautiful terrace staring at Dahab’s amazing sky filled with stars you don’t get to see anywhere in a city.
Luckily, the music isn’t too loud so there were never any noise issues and we slept like babies.
If you want to leave the hotel for a while and explore the surroundings, you will surely find inspiration in my article 89 Things To Do In Dahab.
Conclusion
If you’re looking for an affordable luxury vacation, you’re not going to regret booking a room at the Tirana Dahab Resort.
You will be treated like a king (or queen) and have so many activities to choose from that you’ll hit your comfy bed exhausted but sooo content every single night.
I really don’t have anything negative to say about this hotel, except for the one time they sprayed the entire resort to kill mosquitos, which I critiqued and hope they’ll do it during the night (or not at all) from now on.
If you’re concerned about safety, whether you’re traveling alone as a woman or with children, please forget any fears immediately! While Egypt generally has a bad reputation (which my personal experience doesn’t confirm), Dahab is a safe heaven for everyone.
The locals are incredibly welcoming, warm and open, more than in any other place I’ve experienced. They love children and won’t harass you here if you’re a woman traveling alone.
Yes, you will get some looks, but just take them as a compliment – after all, you’re beautiful!
Dahab is one of the most amazing places in the world, the clock stops ticking once you arrive in the beautiful South Sinai desert surrounded by the Red Sea.
I’m not exaggerating when I say that literally everyone I know starts to feel relaxed as soon as they arrive here.
Whether you want to escape the hustle and noise of Cairo or fly in from Europe for your well deserved vacation, Dahab is the best place to de-stress and enjoy life!

I came here because of the name of this Resort. Tirana is the capital of Albania and I go there pretty often (I’m from Kosovo, so it’s easy) and I was like “how come I’ve never heard of it” LOL. After reading I saw that this is in Egypt. It looks gorgeous and Egypt is definitely a place I wanna visit soon.
So beautiful! Everyone says the diving in Egypt is wonderful, but up til now I had no idea that there were nice resorts there too!
